Protector 22814

Who is Protector 22814?

Imagine a fierce cyber defender, its keen eye relentlessly surveying the cyber landscape. It’s fast and lithe, poised to defend against threats, breaches, and incidents at the first hint of danger. This is Protector 22814, the personification of Varonis' "data defender" brand persona.

Where did it come from?

In the aftermath of a catastrophic cyber attack that devastated a large oil and gas company and captured its valuable data, two brilliant cybersecurity experts were brought aboard to uncover what happened. Recognizing what a catastrophic impact this loss had on the organization, and driven by their desire to prevent future threats, the experts embarked on a project to develop an advanced cybersecurity robot with a hard-wired mission to protect data, defend against cybercriminals, and safeguard digital infrastructure worldwide. To keep an eye on the cyber landscape, Protector 22814 made its home on a highly-secured satellite and brought aboard its robotic cat companion, Pixel.

Where does Protector 22814 live?

Protector 22814 never stays still and vibes best in any environment that allows it to do what it does best: protect data. It spends much of its time in its high-tech satellite home base, surveilling the universe for risk and bad actors, as well as scouting for new and weird emerging threats in unique cyber-themed worlds.

Why "Protector 22814?"

Protector 22814 is named for Varonis' 2014 initial public offering.

Is there more to the story?

Absolutely. We're hard at work at bringing more dimensions of Protector 22814's world to life through various brand experiences throughout the year.

What's its favorite sandwich?

Spam. We think it's weird, too.

Poses & assets

Application guidelines

While Protector 22814 is a key component of our brand identity, we believe it's important not to render the character ineffective through overuse. Protector 22814 should be reserved for high-impact brand moments, paired with strong data security messaging.

"We protect data" on a giant OOH advertising opportunity? Sure. On a datasheet about a new piece of compliance legislation? Not so much.

Below are just a few examples of applications where we would and would not use Protector 22814 (keep in mind that there will be exceptions to each depending on context):
